Garage Floor

It’s best for garage flooring to have epoxy because it has to endure some hard and unpleasant conditions. It has to be able to bear through cement breakdown, oil spills, water and other circumstances. And since the garage floor is made out of concrete, most of the times, there is appropriate paint to be used on it. Some of them are cheap, easy to use and are not slippery. Others are offering thicker texture and are devoid of solvent of any type.

In case our garage floor becomes damp when there is some water on it, then we need to use a primer before we use epoxy. That is a combination which gives better grip to the flooring and will eliminate all moisture problems. And it is quit easy to see did we succeeded in this or not. Just check out for crystal like powder that is found on the surface of the layer. If there are some crystals, then it means that the moisture us going through the paint and outside. We should not apply epoxy pain in this situation and we need to let it dry if we want to have ourselves a good floor.

It is also possible to find materials that have silicone and wax in them that will stick to the top layer and will not allow paint to stick to them. We use these to seal the surface.

Lets just mention a good way to check for a moisture. Put a rubber rug or a plastic bag over the area you plan to decorate. If it is damp, you will find water drops under the rubber rug or the plastic bag. This is probably the best way you can know is your surface ready for epoxy floor or not.

There are few adhesives that are very great for cemented crust. They are not expensive and are guarding the cement from the influences. It is a helpful solution which makes the use of epoxy much easier.

You probably already know that you should clean the area you will going to work on. Any dust particles or other debris will not allow the smooth coating. If you are serious about having an epoxy paint floor in your garage, then you have to make this as best as possible. Use Ultra Violet protection material since the sunlight will make epoxy paint to turn yellow-ish. If you take care about all these small, but important issues, you will have an excellent garage floor.
